Jump To Steal An Egg Pets: Observed Pet Names and Roles

Identify Jump To Steal An Egg Pets: the documented Pet roles, hatch-unlock and guarding Pet names seen in gameplay footage, and where the live Pet Index roster is shown.

Pets in Jump To Steal An Egg fill two distinct roles, and the game's own description treats them as separate functions. During an Egg theft, Pets act as guardians that chase you — "Escape from the Pets before they catch you!" Separately, hatching Eggs unlocks Pets as earners: "Hatch Eggs to unlock new Pets!" and "Your Pets make money OFFLINE!" Hatched Pets generate Cash, including while you're offline, and fill entries in the Pet Index. Importantly, the game does not establish that the guarding Pets and the hatched earning Pets share the same roster or the same mechanics — treat them as separate observations.

How a Pet is obtained and put to work follows the same loop every time:

  1. Train enough Jump Power to reach a reliable target Egg.
  2. Watch the guarding Pet and choose a return line before pickup.
  3. Carry the Egg back to your Pen.
  4. Place it in an available hatching position and wait for the live timer.
  5. Open the Egg and inspect the revealed Pet.
  6. Check its income and its Pet Index entry.
  7. Reinvest the resulting Cash into whatever bottleneck is blocking your next run.

Observed Hatch-Unlock Pet Names (Early Areas)

Early gameplay footage shows these Pet identities hatched from Eggs:

  • Chicken (including a "jumbo chicken" variant)
  • Frog
  • Snail
  • Cow
  • Goldfish
  • Zebra (including a giant/jumbo zebra)

A Cat was referenced during an Egg-stealing sequence, but the captured material does not show it hatching, so it is not included in the hatch-unlock list. The footage also shows a snail out-earning a cow — a reminder that a Pet's appearance does not predict its income. Specific hatches in footage are single observations, not guaranteed outcomes of those Eggs.

Observed Hatch-Unlock Pet Names (Higher Zones)

Late-game footage adds more hatched identities, tied to the zones where the Eggs were taken:

  • Crab (ocean area)
  • Seal
  • Large bearded goat
  • "Nemo" — a mythic fish from the ocean zone
  • T-Rex — divine, from the prehistoric zone
  • Unicorn — secret, from the heaven zone

Footage also shows labels such as "epic egg" and "mythic egg" attached to specific hatches. These are Egg or hatch modifiers, not replacement Pet names — keep them separate from Pet identity. Income figures quoted during these hatches are single observed values, subject to rebalancing, and are not catalog earnings claims.

Observed Guarding (Pursuing) Pet Examples

The same early footage identifies specific Pets acting as Egg guardians that chase the player:

  • Bear — guarding an early Egg ("Bears are supposed to be fast")
  • Tiger — in the savannah area
  • Gorilla — noted at the jungle area

These are pursuit-role observations only and are not claimed here as hatch-unlock identities.

The Live Pet Index Is the Current Roster

No captured record presents a complete or fixed Pet list, so the names above are a bounded, footage-attributed subset — not an exhaustive roster. The game presents themed areas with different Eggs and Pets, from early familiar animals to aquatic, winter, mystical, dinosaur, and fantasy designs, and the live in-game Pet Index is the only dependable current roster. Updates can add entries, change presentation, or rebalance what a Pet earns; if the Index and an older screenshot or video disagree, trust the live Index. A Pet's availability or earning behavior should not be inferred from a promotional image or a pursuit appearance alone.

Once you've identified a Pet, the next step depends on its role: earnings reference for owned Pets, hatch details for Egg unlocks, or escape help for the Pets chasing you.
