Each completed retrieval feeds a growing economy: Egg → Pet → Cash → Jump upgrade → higher route → better Egg.

The Five-Step Retrieval Sequence

1. Reach a safe observation point. Do not land directly on the Egg if you have not seen the guardian move.
2. Watch one movement cycle. Find out where the Pet travels and where it leaves space.
3. Face the exit before pickup. Remove the slow turn that can ruin a close escape.
4. Take the Egg and move immediately. Do not inspect it beside the guardian.
5. Return it to the Pen. The run only produces progress after the Egg is safely delivered and hatched.

Choose an Egg You Can Actually Bank

A higher Egg is not automatically a better target. Run three checks before committing:

Plan the Return Before You Take the Egg

Plan the escape while your hands are still empty:

• Face toward the first safe descent.
• Watch the guarding Pet long enough to understand its current position.
• Avoid standing between the Egg and a wall or dead end.
• Check whether another player is already pulling the guardian across your route.
• Know where your Pen entrance is relative to the base of the climb.
• Practice the route empty-handed first: which landings are consistent, where the camera turns awkwardly, and which platform points directly toward the Pen.

Pick up the Egg only when the return line is open.

Escape With the Egg (Carry Movement Notes)

Once the Egg is taken, the objective changes from climbing to survival: move immediately, follow the rehearsed line, keep the camera on the next landing, and deliver the Egg before doing anything else. Captured gameplay from September 2026 showed ordinary jumping unavailable while carrying an Egg — treat that as a version note, not a permanent rule, and test the current carry controls with a low-risk Egg before planning a difficult route. If jumping is restricted, favor slopes, open drops, and unobstructed ground over a return that needs another climb.

Deliver to the Pen and What Comes After

1. Return directly to the Pen without stopping at shops, the Pet Index, or another target.
2. Place the Egg in an available hatching position.
3. Read the live hatch timer, then train or scout while it hatches rather than standing beside the timer.
4. Open the Egg when the timer finishes and check the revealed Pet's income and Pet Index entry before choosing the next target.

Your collection grows when the Egg reaches the Pen, not when you manage to touch it once.

Recovering From a Failed Steal

• Missed the climb: add Jump Power or use an easier route.
• Guardian reached you immediately: wait for a wider opening.
• Return took too long: improve movement or shorten the path.
• Another player disrupted the area: reset your timing instead of chasing.
• Same failure three times: switch targets and build your economy first — improve Jump for a cleaner route, improve movement if the return is too slow, wait for a better guardian opening, or take an easier Egg and grow income first.

A rare Egg is not profitable when you lose it repeatedly. Consistent retrieval is an economic skill.
